Thread: Ever lived in your car? What is the poorest you have ever been?

  1. #1

Default Ever lived in your car? What is the poorest you have ever been?

Just curious, at first I thought living in your car would not be so bad. You don't pay rent, you can sleep etc.

But it's impractical, no microwave, no room for TV, no place to put your PC.

I was curious if anyone here ever experienced it or something similar?

What's the poorest thing you've had to do?

Mine is probably eating dog treats or a bottle of tamato sauce i stole from a restaurant.

Dear kleptomaniac dog treat eating individual,

No and don't ever plan to. I can't imagine it is very nice if you are in that predicament.

Wowzers, I don't think I would have been happy with vegetarian. I would have asked to speak to the manager.

I've been in a situation where it seemed it might come to that. It's usually when your in the depths of dispair when you have those moments of clarity and come up with a plan from plan land I find.

If you're poor, and that's skidrow poor the last things you think about are the aforementioned. The only time I had to sleep in my car was in the Cape Town CBD a few years ago because I was too plastered to drive myself home.

****ing wussy. I was about to do that 5 weeks ago, luckily other plans popped up. Was ready to live in my car, took out a gym contract just so i have a place to shower mornings before work, found a place to do my laundry next to a supermarket and was going to live on bread and spreads

Sell the car, set up a tent outside/close to your work...

I've passed out in my car, but not lived in it.

The poorest I've been was at university (2001 - 2005), going on a R500 per week allowance. That was plenty of drinking money back then.

I got R500 a month allowance in 2001 - AND had to pay it back when I got a job.

    Poor little rich boy.

I tried sleeping in my car when a friend pissed of with my keys and jacket in Joburg in the middle of winter once. Luckily she didn't take my phone.
