p.s the kaaba is not even a symbolic relic of God but more as said before a place to give direction to Muslims, and it can not be more stressed that worshiping the Kaaba or the black stone as Anthropomorphic or personification of God, is against the laws of Islam

so is deeds are anything to go by, Egypt has been under Muslim rule for over a thousand years and no one destroyed the pyramids, I mean they could have done before anyone else in the world cared they were there, but they left well enough alone.

Talk about mixing up debates. My debate re deads goes about women not being respected. As for the pyramids as I mentioned in this Post I have my doubts about the factual nature of the report.

Firstly the Pyramids existed in the time of our beloved prophet (P.B.U.H), and he knew of the existence Pyramids in Egypt too and not once did he call for the destruction of the Pyramids

Secondly the destroying of idols is obligatory on Muslims it is only obligatory, if we have won over the hearts of the people in the area firstly and completely I.E. no should be worshiping those Idols, as Islam respects ones right to believe in any other religion (freedom of religion this also confirmed in the Holy Quran),

Thirdly Pyramids are considers as buildings and not as idols and when ever there was a war, this first thing our prophet (P.B.U.H) would do is declare that no Religious building should be destroyed nor woman or children.

Obligatory? Did you perhaps use the wrong words or is the destruction of idols truly obligatory?

According to the rumours, Shiek Abd Al-Latif Al-Mahmoud denounced the pyramids as idolatry and asked President Morsy to destroy them.

Following a pattern of news based on hoaxes meant to incite panic about Islamists, this latest item suggests the method is effective in garnering media widespread interest.

The parody Twitter account of Al-Mahmoud tweeted the statement on the same day Morsy was announced president of Egypt. The reports are coupled with reports that Salafists are demanding Morsy to enforce the Hijab (veil) on women.While the conservative Muslims in Alexandria were able to win a campaign to cover up a prominent mermaid statue last year, most cases are exceptions rather than the rule.

But it is not the first time of reports that have flooded news have caused panic about the rise of Islamism in the Middle East and North Africa following popular uprisings to dethrone largely ‘secular’ dictators.

Earlier this year several news agencies ran stories about a proposed bill in the Egyptian parliament, which would have allowed men to have sex with their deceased spouse up to six hours after they passed away. The reports were also discovered to be unfounded.
