Thread: 3 pin to 2pin Wall Adapter

  1. #1

Question 3 pin to 2pin Wall Adapter

As most of you know when you buy a macbook in ZA you get an extension cable with it that has the standard 3pin ZA plug.

Do any of you know where I can get an adapter to a 2pin plug? Like the one on the Powerbrick. I'm going overseas and will like to use the extension cable if possible.

    thx
    Or am i being stupid?

Does it use the figure of 8 type of socket on the other end? If so any electrical/DIY place worth it's salt should have replacements. Don't put too much hope on getting on a white one though

Yes it does, BUT Apple has put this retarded piece of plastic in the way so that you'll have to use an Apple cord.

the standard figure 8 (C7) type plugs fit perfectly. Thats why Apple uses them on their duckbills.

Edit. When you switch to a two prong there is a good chance you could feel a tingling sensation in your hands.

Here's the UK duckbill I'm currently using, as you can see it's a standard figure 8 so any standard cord will work.
