Default Best Prepaid 3G for Overseas visitor?

Hi all....what is the best prepaid 3G deal for a visitor from overseas (expat SAFA)?

Cell C coverage is too poor.

If only going to be in cities then 8ta is cheapest.

Vodacom has the best cover, but is more expensive.
I'm ashamed of South Africa. It's an absolute disgrace that you can pass matric with a mark of 30 percent." - Jonathan Jansen

CellC have a roaming agreement with Vodacom. So you're essentially saying Cellc is the best.

    Which it is.

The roaming agreement is only for 2G, which is useless.

If you are going to travel around the country you need Vodacom.

I have a 2GB per month Vodacom contract just for when I am out of town, and when 8ta and Cell C don't work, which happens often.

I think the nb factors here are expected usage (volume) and area of use. I agree VC is "best", 8ta cheapest. Do you have any idea how much data they're looking to move and where about they'll be?
In South Africa even the information superhighway has potholes on it.

If no data required, Cell C 99c SIM. It roams to Vodacom on voice and 2G data (useless).
If more data required - standard 8ta package and standard bundle (no GoBig specials). It roams to MTN on full speed 3G and better pricing for bundle.
