I've used GoDaddy for SSL certs and have had no problems... In fact their service was excellent. I have read up about it quite a bit and nowhere did I read they are the "scum of the earth" or that they're certs have issues. They have for instance not been hacked *couch*verisign*cough*

No I don't want to go read up about it, I want to know why you think they are the scum of the earth. And I'm not going to PM you about your bad experiences, you can post them right here. Godaddy doesn't have a hit squad who will come torture your dogs and burn down your house.

I just want to make sure you are not just some kid who read some ev0l stuff on the internet about godaddy and SOPA.

Oh and I might be missing something, but nobody was talking about hosting websites btw. Just getting an SSL cert.

You just seem to put forward that you such an honorable professional, but the sad part is, from my experience, you the furthest thing from that.

Oooo from my experience with yourself as well I am unfortunately not able to say your honorable at all ....

Be it as it may always 2 sides to a story and the third one takes the cake

If this makes you feel better about yourself go for it

The fact that i am honorable or not has nothing to do with the fact that you are bad mouthing a company, suggesting someone shouldnt use them, yet you still expect people to use your company after you were the scum of the earth... WTF dude, a pot and a kettle comes to mind here..

Posting a link to google search results for "why I hate xxxxx" will apply to anything and really doesn't mean much, for instance go google "Why I hate Nelson Mandela".

Regardless of the above, I opened the first result:
They’ve scared clients into renewing services they don’t need like “Certified Domains” and “Protected Registration”
If you get scared into buying stuff online you probably shouldn't be online.

They charge for EVERYTHING – Want 5 email address? Sure! But you’ll have to pay $30 or more for 2 years for that. Want to renew your domain name? Sure! Just pay us! Everything is “piece-meal” and has a charge. Why should you have to pay for these things when there are hosting providers that give you all of these things FOR FREE with your hosting account?
It's called business, and if you don't like how they're doing it, use another provider.

Good luck getting ANY refunds! – So, you’ve paid for 2, maybe 3 years of domain name registration FEES with GoDaddy, and you find out – “Oh! Tigertech.net gives me my domain name FREE with hosting.” You can TRY to transfer your hosting, and if it isn’t in “Protected”-land with them, they might allow the transfer, but I have yet to see any of my clients receive any of their money back.
You get MASSIVE discounts if buying more than one year's of anything, it's like a cellphone contract, if you didn't do your research before hand, don't blame them for keeping with their terms.

    Poor Customer Service, and BAD Hosting Practices... {goes on about how difficult it is to use}
Ease of use is NOT part of Good/bad practices. Again, if you don't like it, move.

The fact that tigertech is linked SEVEN times, should give some sort of indication to the motives behind this article.

    On the SSL issue:
I honestly can't care less if they issue certificates for localhost, it doesn't affect my certificate in the least. If you're stupid enough to go buy a certificate for localhost instead of just using a self-signed one then you should take what comes your way.

When I bought my certs they did a check with my hosting provider for every single one.

When we bought ours I was worried bout their low prices, and thus read up on it. From a technical view their certs are just as secure and valid as any other provider, but they are up to 10x cheaper. So if I run into issues with support then I might change, but just because you don't like them or the way they do certain things does not make them "bad".

Our hosting infrastructure is not up for discussion here.

Btw, if you have had issues with them, please do a proper post about it, as I think it would benefit all of us to know. Making sweeping statements like godaddy as a whole is dangerous doesn't help anyone if there is not proper info.
