Right, so I wanted to port my main contract #, but had like R700 left on it. So instead of losing it, bought a prepaid sim for R2, and moved the prepaid time over before the porting took place.

Thats all great and stuff, but without giving out the number to anyone, I already started getting calls to buy random stuff. Now that would be fine if the number was in use by someone else in the past, but how on earths name do they know my surname? The only possible reason is, MTN or the MTN-Shop I got the prepaid from, or RICA is giving out these details. It is bloody annoying. So I had to resort to leaving this phone permanently on silent, because the only use for it is, to use up that prepaid time.
