Eskom is just one of the early indicators that the ANC doesn't have the ability to run a country, never mind plan for the future. They're all about a revolutionary agenda, which seem to mean the exact opposite of peace and prosperity.

Remember Eskom letting all the experience white people go in favour of racist transformation? That's what we're paying for now.

SA seriously needs a new government, that will actually work for the people.

I just wonder which party would work for the people.
Yes its true, Thanks to the majority voting for the ANC we are in this current situation

But it seems the majority loves living in these conditions

You will find solar to be pretty stiff still. You can however replace about six lights with solar plus battery for about R1800 once off! That is already a solid move even if energy saving lamps aren't really the source of your costs. Heating of food and water is. )

It's a democracy mate. The minority cannot really do anything unless they do something drastic.

Yep. Eskom said we need more power plants. ANC said nope lets not build plants but we'll connect millions of extra households. Unsurprisingly that brilliant plan ended in disaster. Viva ANC.

Somewhat above average I think. Places like EU are quite a bit higher though. If this keeps up though we'll be at the top pretty soon.

Places like Germany have stupidly expensive electricity...but they use it to subsidize renewables while here we mainly subsidize incompetence.

My blood boils when hearing about these increases. We pay more, but are we really getting more out of it at all? Other than the great amount of joy and the warm fuzzy feelings we experience lining the pockets of those in power, with money which should be used to survive?

I just wish the "majority" would actually wake up out of their racial/cultural induced comas and see how much better off this country could (should) be.

With the latest increases our electricity has actually become more expensive than some first world countries such as USA (11.80 US c/kWh) and Canada (10.78 US c/kWh) (depending on the IBT you're being charged.)

We're up to 14 US cents per kWh (top tariff) and the international average is about 20 to 25 US cents per kWh so Eskom doesn't have far to go before we start having the most expensive electricity in the world.

Lol, I actually also have a problem with that, but in some areas I was told it prevents cable theft. Laughable really...

As it ridiculous as it sounds, it actually makes a difference. Whether that is a good enough reason for the power waste though is debatable.
