Sorry, based on my previous experience of watching you lie about evolution, I didnt think all of a sudden you had found an honesty bone. I figured you saying, "Just look at pharmaceuticals. Big pharma has been spending billions on developing new anti-depressants while small supplementation companies make millions from ordinary Vitamin D that has the potential to work better with less side effects.". Implied that people suffering from depression should take Vitamin D as it has, "has the potential to work better with less side effects". It could be that your sentence structure was just terrible and I misunderstood you.

And there you continue with the attacks. If you can't treat people with respect then just STFU!

PS: There's nothing wrong with my sentence structure and especially in the context. Any kid can understand it.

If you want respect. Earn it. I only treat people with respect when they deserve it. If they constantly lie about something like evolution... well...I call a duck a duck.

Aaah. Two of us so far seem to think you are implying that people who are suffering from a medical condition known as depression should take vitamin D. Its very confusing the way you structured your sentence. Care to elaborate?

You have a problem with anybody that expresses a viewpoint that's different than yours. One of those superiority complexes that think they must always be right. You have constantly accused me of lying and every time was unable to show it. The question is why have you lasted so long? Sucking up to mods? Contributing to the site?

I hate internet pricks that think they can say anything they want online to anybody that would in real life result in a bloody nose.

@Swa no worries I understood what you said..
    Off topic:

Research is suggesting a strong link between vitamin D status and basic cognitive function, mood and overall mental health.

I don't know how they interpreted that as it being a cure?

    On Topic:
I think if there was money to be made, someone would already be doing it.. I haven't looked into the various battery tech's so not sure what is better.

yeah. a strong link with cognitive function and mood and mental health does not equate to being a suitable alternative to using anti depressants, as implied with the initial analogy.

but yes... them Ni Fe batteries seem to be not so viable with all the corrosion and high production costs?

How can that be if they have a 40year life span? (or more)

You can even harvest the hydrogen during the charging...

yep. it seems according to the chart in post #14 that they provide the cheapest energy as well? problem is: what would the cost be for 42 of these to set up in a residential setting? or is the inverter the most expensive of an off grid photovoltaic setup?

Ok, well that's just taking the opposite stance a bit too far. Vitamin C for example is a phenomenal chemical in high doses. No time to post links now, but do some reading up on intravenous Vitamin C and Liposomal Vitamin C in cancel treatment in particular. Vitamin C in high doses is an extreme anti-oxident that does a bunch of good in the body. The problem is that by taking it orally, you can't get it into the blood in high enough doses... hence the two delivery mechanisms I mentioned.

Vitamins aren't a cure all, but be careful when discounting their ability to cure a range of diseases. (And no... i'm not saying Vitamin C is all you need to cure cancer. Yeesh, that I feel I even have to specify that shows the lack of comprehension around here).

The effect of anti-oxidants (which every other product these days claim to contain) on free radicals (I assume that it what you mean) is highly debatable. There is a brilliant book called Bad Science (Ben Goldacre) which explains this in detail.

EDIT: I have also only a few times in my life taken any vitamin supplements, and I can honestly say I could just as well have swallowed a tablet made of sugar. Meaning, I have not noticed any benefit, besides a hole in my pocket because these things are bloody expensive.

Another thing that irks me is when people foolishly declare that they are now starting to take vitamin C because it's winter and they don't want colds
