    Default Cancelling my Telkom ADSL

    OK, I want to cancel my telkom ADSL line and Uncapped Data at the end of July.
    I phoned in and they say I can only cancel at the end of the month because when you phone in to cancel they immediately cancel the package. They say I will be payed pro rata on my Line but is it true that I cant cancel during the month and be payed pro rata for the adsl package as well. I got a feeling these consultants are full of BS.

    Some ISPs will charge pro rata for the first month when you open an account but I don't know of any applying pro-rata to the last month - use it or lose it.

    Depends on the type of contract and how long it still has to run, you'd need to contact them with your account details.

    I'm not on contract, but usually is the balance of the payments left, so it makes no sense to cancel.

    You can give them notice whenever you want. Just go for it and get the name of the operative who helped you, plus a reference number. Then, if they screw up, you can refer to this.

    I cancelled my ADSL on the 27th Dec 2011. It was disconnected on 28/12 but they invoiced me for the following four months for data which I obviously could not use as the line was dead. Now I got a credit for the four month's data cost at the end of June 2012.
