You will need an 8ta SIM to register on the 8ta network.

Yes, you will need an 8ta sim.

    Welcome to the family!!

When you go to the 8ta shop to get your sim, make sure you get one of those small booklets with all the important numbers. You'll need it.

Nearest 8ta shop is 50km away.. The Telkom shop here moved, so any other way to get one without having to travel 50KM?

    Alternatively, visit a participating dealer:

Take your normal size sim and cut it into a micro sim yourself. It's really easy, lots of vids on YouTube if you wanna see how.

Do this at your own risk. I cut a few SIMS that were working fine, then I cut one that got stuck in my iPad lol. So be very careful when doing this, coz if you screw it up, you can't even use your normal phone never mind your 8ta
