I don't want to change it permanently. I just want Amazon to stop questioning the discrepancy between my listed physical address and my actual location (I assume that this is being picked up from the ip address...).

A proxy server gets the page from the site you want for you then sends it to your computer. The server you want to access sees the proxy's ip address instead of yours.

This one came up randomly on Google (I don't know how good it is)

You type in the address you want to visit there and the proxy will retrieve and display it.

Beware of entering personal details while using a proxy because they can steal it. I've never heard of anything bad happening to people using proxies though but it is possible so proceed with caution.
