Thumbs down Itemized billing and such

    Hi all
Why is it that vodacom force you to get itemized billing if you have a query on your account? this is ludicrous? Last month i had a query on my account, and i wanted to know where a certain transaction had come from. Because i dont have itemized billling enabled, they said i would first have to go through the schlep of enabling it, and then i have to pay for it? Surely this is illegal? Why should i have to pay for it? Why should i have to enable it?

Another thing that really ticks me off is i have a anytime 240 minutes contract, i am not using all those minutes anymore and wanted to downgrade to 150 anytime minutes. There are only 2 months left of my contract. Let it also be known that i have been a vodacom customer for almost 13 years. They want me to pay 300 rands to downgrade. I dont understand why i have to pay for something i am not even consuming?

Honestly are all the cell companies like this? Vodacom suck and i cannot wait to end my dealings with them. problem is, are any of them any better?

you answer your own questions. "i have been a vodacom customer for almost 13 yrs" ... do you really think they reckon someone will go through the pain of moving to another provider after 13 yrs over the R17 they charge for itemized billing? whether you think its legal or not they dont care. you have to pay it to find out what you want to know. vodacom cares about their bottom line and how you feel about them is very low on priorities for them... take it or leave it.

the exact same can be asked as to why contract customers have to pay for CLIP month in and month out and all prepaid customers get it for free..

When you state "transaction", you referring to a call charge ? Itemised billing is one of those Value Added Services that only really come in handy when you playing private I, "why the hell is my bill so high...." case of, pay the 20 bucks, to scrutinise, or just swallow and accept.

---odd thing, on my MTN account CLIP is zero rated....-asked once, and was given the answer, you renewed your contract with us....- I left it there.

Bloody sharks! Imagine a customer comes to your business and if you told them they had to pay for a detailed invoice. They would go mental.

The cellphone service providers are the only people to make you pay them so that you get a detailed bill, just so that you can pay them again. Crooks!
