Default Microsoft Office 2013 (Preview Release)

Just saw this over at Arstechnica

Microsoft today released a customer preview of the next generation of Microsoft Office, which is optimized for both touchscreens and traditional desktops. While the new features of Office are definitely tailored to Windows 8, the suite will work on both Windows 8 and Windows 7. You can test it out now by going to the Office Customer Preview link. (Caution: download and installation is a bit slow.)

With Windows 8 hitting RTM (release to manufacturing) next month, Microsoft provided its first in-depth look at the next version of Office today. Microsoft has promised "touch everywhere," stylus control, and of course traditional keyboard and mouse input. In addition to the traditional suite, ARM-based Windows 8 devices will include Office Home and Student 2013 RT, containing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote (but not Outlook).

Ars has been testing Office's pre-release versions, and we already have extensive articles detailing the features of Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote.
Also check out the in depth review including screenshots over at Engadget and TheVerge
.... and thanks for all the fish.

Having found that 2013 sucked the lifeblood out of my desktop I've run an uninstall, I'll reinstall 2013 on a VM.

Until I uninstalled both cpu cores ran around 100%, not good. Immediately upon uninstalling my machine became usable again, so watch out if you intend installing 2013 on a machine you normally use.

My desktop is running 2007 Ultimate 64 KB with 6GB ram.

Obviously you're gonna have a problem if you only have 64KB drive space.. duh...

No it's OK, I compressed it into 2 bits.

The 64 bit Office 2013 suite runs fine on my Win8 RP Dell laptop (Centrino2 4GB ram). Only complaint I have is the new 'clean' interface looks a little bland compared to Office 2011.
Still here ... FTL drives offline

I was running the recommended 32-bit version.
