    Default Moving ADSL Line

I just received this message from Telkom.

Order XXXXXXX. Investigation reveals insufficient infrastructure in your area. Technical feasbility being investigated. For enquiries plse dial 10219. TELKOM
I am moving to a flat in Uitzicht/Durbanville. I know for a fact there was a telephone line at-least in that flat before. There is a jack there.

How can there not be infrastructure in Durbanville.

Can anybody help please? I will go speak with Telkom at lunch time.

    Edit:

This is the exchange I presume id be connecting to:

Telkom says ADSL is offered in the area however the ports are full. No more ports available. Anybody have experience with what happens next?

No, best would be to cancel the ADSL line and look at something like 8ta or whatever suits your needs, just be sure to check reception etc at the new place before signing any contracts. Telkom has some or other wireless replacement but I've never heard of it working really and trying to get feedback or timelines from Telkom regarding ADSL infrastructure issues is near impossible. So maybe switching from Telkom to 8ta (telkom mobile) would be easier.

He is the first one I hear of TBH... it works if you find someone that likes their job I guess, things usually goes quick and they may be able to help you. I ordered my ADSL line on a Friday and they installed it the next Tuesday. So sometime's there's life!!!

But Good Luck, hope you come right!
