Have you ever been to the Steam forums? Judging by the excitement and the fact that there have been countless threads over the years calling for a Linux client they're probably a sizeable amount, probably still a minority but a very active money-spending minority, just like the Mac guys.

Many people over there even refuse buy games if it has GFWL such is the hate for Microsoft.

This will draw a host of people to try and finally migrate to Linux.
Can't wait to get rid of Windows completely!

    No one is stopping you?

You can get a console for games or try and get your games to work via wine. I did a combo of both.

I am stopping me. My knowledge of Linux is limited to running a live CD and installing it...
I am trying Linux and Play on Linux on my laptop but I'm not comfortable enough to migrate completely.
You mean a console like Ps3 of Xbox? Maybe one day when I'm earning a salary...

I tend to prefer console because I want to avoid the usual PC issues: DRM, drivers, random crashes.
For example, I get blue screen crashes when playing Serious Sam 3.
Adding another layer of potential problems on top of that (Wine) is not a good solution.
That's why I'm hoping that game developers support this.
I am one of those Linux users that spend more than the average on those Humble Bundle games, and I would love to finally be able to remove my Windows partition entirely, and maybe just keep a Windows VM if I need it. I would have done so already if running a game in a VM worked properly.

This is true, adding WINE does add another layer of potential problems, the only difference is that if it should crash it does not bring down you entire PC. Usually you would not need to restart you OS, you can simply fire away WINE again and try and fix it or carry on where you left of, but you are correct, another layer another problem.

Funny thing with wine is normally to get my games working, I resort to cracked exe's as it removes the DRM problems. This 9 times out of 10 works for most of my games. So the question I normally have, is it the game or the DRM that cause most of the problems with Windows Users?
.... and thanks for all the fish.

There is a plethora of articles tackling this very statement. I remember a few years back that this subject was in the news almost weekly.

I do believe that DRM causes most of in-game problems, take SC2, the only problems I have had so far is DRM issues. There are a may games that actually work better on Linux (minus DRM) than on Windows (with DRM). Most patches, read the release notes and you will find the following statement:
    "Fixes stability issues."

    Yea, DRM is the devil...
