  1. #1

Default Colocation Hosting in Cape Town CBD?

    Hi folks

I need to get some option/tips for Colocation Hosting in Cape Town CBD?

What company will be the best option for me, piecewise and quality wise?

Hetzner suck (if goes offline, when I wanna be online, but their always willing to help over phone they don't always know everything but they try .....once their generator didn't kick in and my website died for a couple of hours or days, I think its the cape town datacenter or joburg something latency no pizza for the night...whatever)

Internet Solutions in cape town (needs a entire new group of people, because they never!!!!!!!!!!!!! reply your emails and YOU have to keep phoning them, theres like 1 person there thats awake and kinda in charge, worst company ever!.....and their our uplink eish)

If I had my own 100mbps link with a static IP(s) = my problem solved for life!

Not sure if you've had a look at Teraco? Or their resellers?

Both IS and RSAWeb advertise their Cape Town location as 34 Bree St so I'm guessing they have a data centre there??

Teraco has a Cape Town data center as well. I assume you will have to rent at least half a cabinet, and then still organize with one of the ISPs that has a presence there for transit/connectivity. Most are there as far as I know.

This is completely off topic, but I was on rsa web's website the other day. They have a dedicated server for R995 per month.

Guess how much bandwidth the server gets?

    1GB

Is this some kind of joke?

sounds good, but at this moment I'm exploring my options colocation vs. self hosting vs. 155mbps neotel local only IF they even have such a thing vs. pricetag(s)

    vs. RSAWEB up to 1GB/s
