Default ADSL syncing issues in Rondebosch

Anyone in Rondebosch having sync issues?
My 1 meg line can't sync at full speed for the past few weeks and keeps on disconnecting
Phone telkom and they said everything is fine on their side

Average speed is at like 512kbs or lower

I'm experiencing the same thing, I've got Mweb's 1mb uncapped and for the past two weeks ive had my line drop constantly and pathetic playability :/ I ran a constant ping to google.co.za, 3% packet loss with an average ms of 550...

sigh...it is rather annoying when i can't even download a 200meg file without it disconnecting all the time

Since 16 July 2012 - 800ms local ping, and 0.3mbit download speeds. Capped cybersmart account. I have tried other accounts and the issue persists, meaning its a telkom problem. My local ping to Cape Town servers is usually 10-15ms throughout the day.

I'm having the same problems. My PPPoE session keeps dropping but the line stays synced.
I tried to log a fault at Telkom but they say that it can't be line related because the DSL light stays on (still syncing)... So glad to have found this post...
Has anyone here had any joy yet from Telkom?

Has everyone logged the fault here: https://secureapp.telkom.co.za/assur...blic/logafault ?

Just an update - Telkom says they are sending a technician out today... Holding thumbs!

Hi WAJeff, this is the exchange i'm supposedly patched to http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/WRBS
I've noticed roughly after 6pm that my line is at its worst 260-1000ms with an average of 500ms pinging to www.mweb.co.za

Mweb has reset the ports, ive reconfigured my router, PC is clear and now im beginning to think the exchange congested :/

    I'm on the same Exchange...
No ping problems for me - my PPPoE auth just drops. Chatted to a few WA consultants as WA is my line provider...
    Now waiting on Telkom

I dont see how it could be congestion, as in my case the problem started on the 16th, as if somebody flipped a switch. There was no gradual decline in line quality etc. My local pings are now anywhere in the range of 800-1200ms. And no I am not exaggerating.

Yep 4meg here and my ping to UK is at about 600 from about 18:00 all through the night (used to be, and still is during office hours, its down to about 180), WTF, PLEASE what's going on, Telkom need to install new lines?? This is getting irritating, been going on for the last week that I've been back in CT. I'm used to it being slow during office hours if anything. Rondebosch near main road (WRBS exchange)

Logged a fault with Telkom. Got a response saying that problem is linked to ''network failure'' - which my ISP explained means that theres a problem at the local exchange.

Now lets hope that Telkom actually does something about it

    Anyone still having issues?
Telkom said my line was syncing too fast and dropped it to 4megs - still having the same problem though

After logging a fault with Telkom the reply I got was there's nothing wrong with my line...
I dont understand how that is true since I use to be able to sync at full 1 meg speed with no issues for as long as I had the line
Now I will get 600 if I am lucky
