So anyone else getting involved in a community project today? Something not self or selfish based. IE, something to help the community and not you or your immediate family.
I believe Ayn Rand's first love poem went: Roses are red, violets are blue, finish this poem yourself you dependent parasite".

This is why I say taxes are essential. Not enough people care about charity to get involved to uplift the community So charity by itself is doomed to failure.

I know a couple of biker groups made some awesome contributions for today. I wish our forumites cared as much as a biker does

Besides planting weed at the local botanical gardens? no. I help people often enough so don't see a need.

You don't know him. For all you know he does a lot of charity and don't limit to one silly day.

Not really planning on doing anything different today.

Saturday we are having a special lunch for some senior citizens.... as we often do.
That's far more satisfying and rewarding for me.

At age 16 all they want is money - so decided to give in this year and deposited money into his account - he must learn to manage it now (I hope). He can also choose any restaurant he wants with a couple of friends to go out to on Sat.

    Nice.

Wish more people would get involved. Ive been involved with Round Table now for several months. We work our asses off but it is very rewarding work. Its like soul food (I use the term metaphorically) Hopefully it will counter balance my karma from my misspent childhood

From what you have told us about Round Table... they rock!
I was a Rotary Youth Exchange Student, so I am more partial to their projects.
