I remember driving up the 4x4 section in Itala NR, and there was an oke in one of the vehicles on the list also trying to go up. He kept trying to rev the cr@p out of the thing and it kept dying on the first slope. My trusty antique Hilux (no diff lock) just puttered past him in 3rd gear LR.
That said, also from the list, I was pretty impressed with the Forester's sand handling abilities.
A 4x4's wheels are all powered equally where as AWD has each wheel receiving different power depending on traction/preset
correct?
Sometimes I talk to myself if I feel like having an intelligent conversation.
If anyone wants to see what a SYNCRO can do, follow this link and look at the video:

Can you really not use those vehicles there?
People also say you need a 4x4 for Sani Pass but that's BS. Passed a Merc W123 going in the opposite direction once and we pissed ourselves laughing. The border dudes reckon they see the guy a lot as he goes into Underberg to go buy stuff and then comes back over the border.

Forrester Action, IMO no other Station Wagon can match it ... not to mention quite a few 4X4's![]()

What comparison? If you have proof, then thats ok...please post said proof cos Im interested how and why it failed so bad...otherwise thats just an opinion.
Same as my reply above. Seems more like your opinion of the brand than a fact, is that correct?
Never never under estimate the capabilities of a Forester unless you want to load 1ton of sand!!
