10Mbps?! Dont make me laugh. I cant even get a stable 4Mbps connection!
How unsurprising to see we areatnear the bottom..

This says fastest ADSL speeds. I'm sure some of the leading nations in the world are using FTTx etc. so perhaps that's why their ADSL offerings are 'not that far' ahead of us.

IBIWISIGood news for South African broadband users is that Telkom is currently busy with a network upgrade which will see far higher DSL speeds.
Telkom said recently that it will increase the speed of its entry level ADSL service to 2Mbps by 2015, and at the same time boost its highest ADSL speed to 40Mbps.
Who cares for stability... speed is more important![]()

Telkom, a "World Class Company" lolololol!![]()
Pretty worthless comparison actually, it only lists advertised speeds. That's like judging the olympics by asking the athletes which one of them can run the fastest. Using actual average speeds, I'm sure we'd even be below Mexico.
So y'all need to hide yo uzis, hide yo assault rifles and hide yo bazookas 'cos they disarmin' everybody out here!

haha a quick comparison to the UK:
10mb uncapped at Afrihost: R997 PM
Line Rental for 4/10mb through Afrihost: R399PM
Total of R1 396 p/m
BT infinity in UK:
Uncapped 100mb : 35 pounds/pm = R446.75 (Exchanged at the time of this post)
Line rental: 10.75 pounds/pm = R137.21 (Exchanged at the time of this post)
Total: R583 p/m
So world class company? My @ss.
I know that these comparisons might not be fair etc etc due to living costs changing what what but for more than 1/2 the price you get 10x the speeds in the UK than here.....

South Korea is not on the list.
I assuming its because they only use fiber nowadays.
That place would rock for connectivity speeds.
Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/22/te...oadband22.htmlBy the end of 2012, South Korea intends to connect every home in the country to the Internet at one gigabit per second. That would be a tenfold increase from the already blazing national standard and more than 200 times as fast as the average household setup in the United States.
A pilot gigabit project initiated by the government is under way, with 1,500 households in five South Korean cities wired. Each customer pays about 30,000 won a month, or less than $27.
Sigh
