How would YOU go about protecting 30 computers at a primary school?

Have IE as the default browser, it can't correctly render most sites anyway.

Squid with a couple of website rules should do the trick. just make sure that the PCs can't access the internet without going through the squid proxy

I've used it a couple of times. Easy as hell to setup, bliss to manage. The only time I had issues was when using a second NIC, got a bit sticky sometimes to install certain Netgear cards. Most others were fine right from the start though. Dlink, 3Com etc. were detected and installed right away.

Isn't K9 more focussed towards individual PC's? I can't see anywhere that they have a central administration console - this would be fine for a few PC's, but will be quite time consuming to set up on multiple PC's.
