I am surprised, thought Blackberry would be no.1 by now, because of "free" internet.
This was obviously a paid for survey from KnockOffiaTheir phones haven't been good for about a decade or more lol.

I don't necessarily agree with the decade of doom, but these number definitely don't add up!
They state that in 2011 there were 1.5m BlackBerries in SA, yet in November 2011 Vodacom alone had 1.5m on their network, add 3 more networks to that and the number increases drastically...

Nokia figures seem a bit high, I doubt their figures are that high at the moment
I believe it. Nokia's never die. Even if they're not being used, they're still being accounted for.
Does Nokia still exist? The only reason Samsung is on the list is because they pay each shop attendant R200 for every Samsung Galaxy phone they sell, so all the shop attendants do everything they can to sell it to you. They're not giving you good advice, they're only looking out for their own pockets.
I assume that these are all phones in general not just smartphones so then this would be correct as Nokias feature phones are still selling well.
The figures that really count :

Nokia Reports $1 Billion Loss in Q2 2012 Earningshttp://technorati.com/technology/art...llion-loss-in/Since the launch of the "Lumia" devices featuring WP7, Nokia has managed to ship over 4 million smartphones worldwide, which also includes their existing Symbian and MeeGo devices. Not bad at all, until you see what it cost them. After this latest earnings release from Nokia for Q2 2012, we can see the cost, to the tune of a loss of $1 Billion.
Interesting article, but like Frikkenator I don't believe the numbers.
Pathetic graphic.
Vodacom: South Africa'sLeadingFollowing Cellular Network!
These stats are for the entire population o
f South Africa. Rural people buy those R100 feature phones. Buying the cheapest black berry is crazy expensive for these people, it's really sad.
also guys these are phones not smartphones....Blackberry,samsung motorola do not have a R200 phone...
