They have player numbers based on the registrations and IP addresses. This is about as good as online petitions to stop whaling/mcdonalds/the boogey man

Yeah it's pointless far too few players in South Africa to even consider the costs of putting a server here.

No offense, It isn't a good idea, if they do decide to stick a server in SA, very few will play on that server. so you will have an under populated server with terrible economy, What happens if you use your battlenet friend list to invite people to your group?
Who will be the ones lagging then? the friend that lives in UK or you living in SA? no European will want to connect to a SA server to get pings of 300.

And then how many others like myself will stay on other EU/US servers because of guilds and friends? There is no chance i will play on a Blizzard server if they stick 1 km away from my house and i get 10 ping to it. I prefer playing with my friends.

think the OP got his @ss kicked last night now he is blaming it in the latency....

I think it's worth a shot.. Giving up because blizzard has told us a big F U is ridiculous. Granted it takes your precious time and some of you have tried bringing about a server, but if we keep trying maybe, just maybe a miracle would happen. The SA gaming industry is drastically growing and i think so are D3 players. Just sponsor the idea and voice your opinion.

Btw i'm jamming D3 currently on average of a 200 - 250 latency.. but that's just because my line is so awesome

There is just many of us that disagree having a server here, and as I value your opinions in having a server, please value mine for not wanting a server here.

I'm with you on this, although I'm sure all of us would LOVE our own servers, 200 milliseconds is really hard for the human eye to notice, maybe the OP just has a crappy ISP and a simple upgrade should do the trick. To the OP whats your latency on blizz games?

We are not close to the servers you have provided and thus some of us have relatively high pings that we are stuck with (250-300ms).

Thanks didn't read through everything, 300ms is still not that high, and more than playable, maybe I'm just easily pleased
