Default FNB clients to get cash from tills

    http://www.fin24.com/Companies/Finan...tills-20120720

First National Bank (FNB) customers will now be able to withdraw cash from retailers Pick n Pay Stores [JSE:PIK] and Shoprite Holdings [JSE:SHP], in an effort by the bank to stem foot traffic to branches and cut transaction costs, Business Day reported.
The facility is reportedly available to FNB gold and platinum cheque account holders, with a 90 cents fee compared to a R6 per R500 fee from ATMs.
    Awesome!

I've seen people doing this before and assumed it was for everyone. But, in hind sight they were with ABSA. Good thing I didn't try it myself before today.

The TRANSACTION cost is even less than Capitec, who charges R1.

Been doing this for years now, haven't used an ATM/bank walk-in withdrawal in forever - has this only been made available to FNB now?

Yup, just add the amount of cash one wishes to draw to your shopping bill.

The facility is reportedly available to FNB gold and platinum cheque account holders,
So this does not include the lower end with Smart Accounts (Cheque Savings) and Silver Cheque ?

Been doing this with Wizzit for a long while now. So it's nothing new for me.

And it's safer than using an ATM.

Except when the shops are closed.
