Thread: I went to Exclusive Books today. Big mistake!

Default I went to Exclusive Books today. Big mistake!

There were so many good books.

I saw three books in particular that I wanted to buy, as well as the game Jenga.

But my self-discipline trumped and I thought "I must rather not".

I'm slowly saving money so that I can buy a property in a few years' time.

About a month ago I bought four books which I haven't even finished yet. I think I should first finish these four books before getting new books. I'm just scared these books may be gone by the time I've finished the four I'm busy with.

How much money do you spend in an average month on books?

How do you deal with the temptation wanting to buy things which you know you really shouldn't?

Pirate bay + kindle = still spend on books because they are awesome. Every time i walk into a book shop I have to exercise major self-discipline

Not anymore. I no longer buy books. (well..) I have gone digital.

My SF library is now my sons and at first I was sad to see
an end to an era, and an end to having and expanding
the largest SF collection in Africa, but I've moved on.

Other people are still buying me books and I still file them alphabetically
into the library after reading them.

Books are my lifetime habit and greatest joy, it has been difficult going digital,
I do almost all of reading online these days, but I always quickly pop into the book store
if it happens to me along my path .. just to see..
and if there is a very special book I've been waiting for, I will get it lol !
This text exists even though you can't really see it, now apply this truth to your existence in the universe.

As are libraries. My kids already have their own cards and really look forward to picking out their books.

    what type of books?
don't waste your time/money on fiction at EB.

There's more than enough pdf downloads for those.

First I look to see if there is a free version on the Internet somewhere, otherwise I buy it for my Kindle.

    I buy 3 or 4 a month.
It shouldn't make a difference to your saving for a property. You should put down a 100k-300k deposit, depending of the price. A grand or so on books a month won't make any difference

This. I don't know why it didn't occur to me, but libraries are great. And free
