While in principle this sounds like a great idea it doesn't work well with guys like Apache. The guy was clearly obsessed with race but he was also clever. He knew exactly where the line was and so knew the right words to use to clearly imply something racist but never came right out and said it.

As others have mentioned the guy survived without a ban for ages despite the fact that he posted next to nothing but articles about race (oh and Obama and the socialists... whatever those are ).

I think an single racist/bigotry infraction must lead to a ban from this section. I agree with JustAsk, the racist at home here they see themselves as being safe among friends.

While I have no problem with the way the mods/admins apply their warnings/infractions/bans, sometimes you leave us no choice.

Apache was on MyBB for a year, I'm sure there were a lot of RBP's during that time.

If there were then an automatic ban would have followed...

i disagree Antowan, i mean some of us go full out when we get angry, but a lot of us will take our time and discuss things with people who have misconceptions. i mean personally i am very patient with people who post racist remarks, as they may just be emotional, misunderstood or just not know any better. however, no matter how much you educate a person, a person may not change their ways.

i feel that if mods are going to be hard on people who call other people racist, then you should equally be hard on people that call people ANC supporters as they are on the other side of the coin. labeling someone anything basically without their permission can be seen as an insult, as at one stage people were even being labeled pedophiles for having a different opinion to the people that were happy a rapist was dead.

i don't see why one insult(a misdirected label) should be the sole word we refrain from saying when there are a lot of similar insults that people use.

all i want is that i feel labeling someone an ANC supporter simply because they disagree with an argument should be ban worthy too then

I think a lot of people just have doubts, as when people ask mods for things they remain quiet. There is no reason that mods have to explain themselves, but you get users that just feel scared that the system doesn't work, or want it to work in their favour. I mean even I have an infraction for a blatantly sarcastic post where i didn't insult anyone, then you get new users who get banned almost immediately.

I think users think that the mods opinion overrides their RBP, like if the mod doesn't agree, it doesn't matter how many times a post is reported, and we don't actually know how the system works, so it's just nice to have feedback, so like the people who also accuse people of ANC supporters also know they have to be careful

We are not blind and the rules are quite clear. If there is any slack on the rules it ispurely because we are trying to br kind. We are humans working with humans after all.
