A language consumers understand
If anyone needs confirmation that there is a price war going on in SA’s cellphone sector, a quick look at last Sunday’s newspapers will confirm it.

Now we wait for standard data bundle price cuts & Straight Up Data contracts
I done eff'd so many bishies that I can't remember names
But if you put that pu**y right up in my face, I remember
That is the understatement of 2012!The answer from the cellphone giants has been uninspiring, to say the least
Vodacom: South Africa'sLeadingFollowing Cellular Network!
RPM you guys could send cell c a list of things that we as cutomers want. Write a article. We suggest things and send it of to them. He wants to give us what we want
The lesson that Vodacom and MTN should be learning from their use of smokes in front of mirrors, is that smoking kills their customer base and dominance in the market. The answer from the cellphone giants has been uninspiring, to say the least. Instead of moving into this new consumer-driven world, they are content to sit back and wait, using smokes and mirrors to keep their customers in the dark.
This consumer has not forgotten and is not about to reward AKC with the title of "consumer champion", AKC gets paid enough money as a CEO and he doesn't deserve any ego stroking. I am however grateful that AKC has replaced his early days rhetoric with action. It is no wonder that consumers are hailing Knott-Craig as a consumer champion and praising CellC, even though this proves how short their memories are.
If AKC is listening or if rpm wants to tell AKC, the services I want from Cell C are:
- Data SIM data bundle sharing without any monthly subscription fees
- the ALTNUM data usage SMS service that Vodacom has to any network, except it should work on TopUp type of contracts as well
- a contract that has realtime data usage monitoring and hard-capped data bundles (no OOB shark)
- an "Unrestricted APN"
[1], [2] and [3] are the same things I have been waiting years for Vodacom to provide, Cell C appears to be sufficiently agile to make it so (just don't retrench the people that are needed to implement it).
I am sure there are some great ideas out there. Hope that myBB can be our voice to it
Not a price war, Cell C shaking up the mobile market is what it should be called.
No contracts. 10 gig for R200. Like the 8ta deal.
