Thread: PnP no longer rounding on Card Payments

Default PnP no longer rounding on Card Payments

    Hi,

Please can you post your RECENT experiences at Pick 'n Pays when you pay by card - they have always rounded totals (even on card payments) to the nearest 5c - today I paid R8.58.

I have always commended them on rounding totals (including card puchases) but now it seems they just like other supermarkets!

I will not post the branch for now as it may be countrywide anywho.

Personally I've never known them to round anything but cash payments, in fact, not rounding credit cards makes perfect sense.

I often wonder how much they 'lose' from rounding.

I had a look on my sms notifications. Seems like some Pnp's round and others don't. Never noticed this before.

I've also never known them to round off credit card payments? The price I saw was the price I paid.
Why would they do that? It makes no sense.

I've never seen any shops rounding for CC's. For cash yes, but not CC.

The OP might be onto something. I've checked all my electronic CC payments for the past 2 years. Checkers/Spar dont round down. PnP do!

Either that or its a serious coincidence that all the totals end in multiples of 5c

It doesn't make sense to round for CC payments, so if they did change it its OK too.

No they'll round down or not at all. Rounding up would start a PR mess over a couple of cents.

Ya my dad use to work for Game, they always rounded down. And if you get 1c in change they gave you a 5c
