I am looking to have two computers connected to ADSL via this, connecting with their own accounts. Imaginet for myself, and, well the other thats not my account so dont care.

Can you please tell me if this is possible with this modem and what needs to be done to set this up?

I used to have that router, was very happy with it until lightning took it out. I'd never actually done wat ur talking about, but i would imagine u just need to put it in bridge mode and let each pc do its own pppoe

Could you please explain in a bit more detail how you can connect to 2 accounts from 2 PCs over 1 modem. I would like to do that as well. At present I have to logoff, reset modem and then logon to other ISP account.
Thanks

ok i just did it,
I went into my wan settings and enabled bridge

i have a cheap0 mecer so just check your router manual on how to do it on urs.

Then on ur pc in control panel, go to network connections.
- create a new connection
- connect to the internet
- set up connection manually
- connect using broadband connection...
- put wateva isp name u want
- enter in user/pass

Ur ready to go, u use the connection like u do with a dialup

i can imagine that would work yes. U just need to give the modem an ip and disable all its lan features (dhcp etc)... then setup the linksys as the networks dhcp server, firewall etc.

btw: where did u get that billion single port for R350?

so the single port modems dont hav any lan features?

edit: nm, now i see.. there's where the diff between the single port 5102S and 5102SM comes in

yes, ic, that sounds correct. It only supports bridged mode becuase its just a modem. Then the Linksys will just share the connection, not dial for me.

Another question... can TWO people logon with their own ISP's at the same time? (Obviously from two computers)

Try the Route Sentry application, search for it in the forums

This entire thing is rather confusing for me, maybe I need more experience in networking.

Okay, example

Computer A - Online with Imaginet - Unshaped Freestyle + 3000 (wow, p2p etc)
Computer B - Online with ABSA - IS 3GB (simple browsing + e-mail)
ONLINE AT THE SAME TIME.. THIS IS POSSIBLE RIGHT

1x ADSL 384 Line

- What will I need to buy to make that possible?

1x Modem (do I need a particular modem) (if its the 5102 for example it has 4 ports so that does the job fine right?

However if I get the 5102SM, just modem, wont I need the Linksys to split the connection? I cant find a BRIDGE mode on the Linksys Configuration menus. Gateway and Router are the modes.

okay, so if I get the 5102S then I can simply plug the 5102S into the Linksys WAN port.

Turn off the router functionality of the device and make it a simple switch. This should fix everything.
