Also, if it's a 4x4 it would be more expensive than my lil cars tyres
I drive a normal sedan. Honda Ballade to be exact. The tyres the car came with are 2grand each.

Well I just got a quote from TWT... R2700 odd. All 4 tyres, balancing and alignment. Please excuse me while I find the closes N1 bridge to jump off of.

That's R650 a tyre. Not bad at all.

With all due respect, OP drives a Citi Golf which originally ran on tires developed around 1975. Buy cheap tires.

Good point, but perhaps the best tires is needed then since the car has no safety equipment like ABS and proper steering.

LMFAO - that made my day.

Seriously, if the OP pays more than R2000 for 4 14" tyres including balancing and alignment, he is getting ripped off.

A bit less - R50 per tyre for balancing, R250 for alignment. Each tyre on it's own is about R576.

It's not bad, just a heck of a shock. They can quote me on Velocity (I think?) which is manufactured by Continental, but like he said, you save a few bucks per tyre, but they are not guaranteed to last as long at all. I would rather sell a kindney, possibly some blood too, knowing that I am buying a "better" product.

The quote is for Conti EcoContact's.

Still going to give the other places mentioned a call too.

This is exactly why I do not want to compromise on the tyres.

But don't knock my steering, it keeps my shoulders nice and toned

Very true! I miss the days when I cruised around in a '89 2.1i Microbus... without aircon or power anything

Why is that? I only use Dunlop Endura's for my Quantums and never had a problem (and those things do around 1000k's a week)

Go for Good Hope! The thing with them is they allow you to negotiate. If you're feeling adventurous go to the one in Blue Downs, ask for Raj. He's a cool oke

Blue Downs isn't THAT bad I still need to give good hope a call, ran out of time today.

My other half got a contact through her colleagues - Mufasa Tyres. Here in bellville.

Conti EcoContact @ R505 each, balancing and alignment @ R40 per wheel. Best quote so far...

What size are those tyres? 175/65 14?
That last quote sounds like a good deal.

    Yup, exact size.

I nearly fell off my chair when I heard that price. TWT's R2700 for full set was the best I had heard today, till my Mrs got in touch with Mufasa.

I just want to get pricing from Good Hope in the morning, but I think it's going to be quite difficult to get someone to beat Mufasa Tyres quote.
