Brand new Hilux double cab 3L and I am trying to make sense of the automatic gear box.
It has two drive modes, D and D3, now the question is what is the difference. No idea yet how to engage 4x4 mode but thats not a concern at the moment.

OK - you had me going for a while there - you actually have D which is normal Drive (4 speed box) and 3 which is for third gear.
The salesman should have shown you how to engage 4x4 - but if you want to work it out yourself you have an incredibly thick instruction manual which explains it...![]()
Look on pages 223 - 225 of your 844-pagemanual.
I've just bought the manual gearbox 2012 model, so can't advise on the auto-box selection.
Thanks Fazda.
Firstly the 4x4 is not mine, its my wifes uncle who is an old timer so I am trying to help the old bugger out. And secondly this is not only a computer forum. But thanks for your worthless post.
Cheers. I have told him, hopefully he figures it out himself.
