Default Would you support a one world government?

Fair question, would you support it?

World government is the notion of a single common political authority for all of humanity.
All borders between nations eliminated, one global nation with one world leader and his/her parliament.
Some say this is possible others say the difference between East & West IS too big...

Quite a few united organizations active at present, many well known. There are those who speculate that these are "chess moves" in the right direction.

    follow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_government

Lately in the news: LOST been opposed by USA senate......uncle Ronald Reagan stood firm in the 80's against it. Yet the agenda is still pushed for.

This treaty is one possible "vehicle" to justify a world government. Another one could be the "Green movement".
The argument boils down to this: If humanity wants to survive in this time of crises with "food shortages, limited resources, global warming etc" we'll have to unite.

What is your opinion and if this could be a reality would you support?

Personally, I think it would lead to chaos. Way too many people to look after and e lot of organizations with their own agendas.

Everyone would move to the more inhabitable areas, massive over population in those areas, people fighting for the resources in those areas and eventually civil wars which would lead to smaller self governed countries. Having people unite to survive will just lead to more people starving.

So no, I don't think I will support it. I am to comfortable

I'm pro one world government, one world currency, one benevolent dictator (that's the unrealistic part)

I think it would go a long way to reducing the wars. Most wars are fought between countries fighting for land and resources to keep from the other country. Get rid of all countries and all borders and there is nothing left to fight over.

But then people will fight over who paid more tax and therefore who should get the most benefits etcetera.

You will also find people migrating to areas of the world that are richer causing strains on the societies there.

No, you're projecting current issues into that environment. There would be none of the issues you bring up...

I would. I have no issue with it in principle. In practical terms though, it would be a bitch to pull off and a pipe-dream for the time being. This fencing off of borders and us vs them mentality is silly...
