Default Huaweu E367 usb modem problem

    Hi,

I took over a contract from a mate moving overseas and they gave me their dongle but iv tried it on a few computers and seems the contact point on the dongle dont make proper contact due to the design of the dongle as it doesn't fit as securely as other dongles...

has anyone else had this issue or know of what can be done to get a different dongle?

    Thanks!

meh, after wiggling it around it will pop up briefly with the "installer window" and then vanish!

Try it on different computer... Or use self=powered USB hub... Do you use USB extension cable? I agree that E367 plug do not fit secure as it should be and modem can lose contact at times. But what you describe is too extensive.

Consider also that software craches. Download Huawei drivers-ony package, press and keep ShIFT key when inserting modem to prevent autostart. Then install drivers you donloaded.
