Telkom ADSL issues (AGAIN...)

Been struggling again since last month with intermittent connectivity, slow speeds and constant CRC and header errors (Robin Hills, 4 Mbps, MWeb uncapped). Of course all the initial tests (conducted by someone sitting on their backside in an office) all show "defect free", quite a contradiction considering as it's Telkom it probably started out with a defect... but I digress, Clearly there's still a problem considering I battle to get 1 Mbps sometimes and still getting thousands of errors in an hour (totally random). This is unfortunately also not the first time I've had these issues either, the last time (after months of logging calls)Telkom actually replaced my local lead, which solved the problem at the time (for a while...)

I've done all the obvious tests, changed routers, filters etc. etc. etc. It seems this is still either local lead / DSLAM / Exchange related.

The only odd thing (aside from the obvious CRC errors) I've noticed is the output power varying quite a bit; between 2,5 to 8 dBm. Any other ideas (other than chewing off my wrists)??

So, Telkom closed 2 calls subsequent to this post again as they're "unable to find the problem and it must be with the ISP" besides the fact that I've tried both MWeb and Axxess with the same results... This is going to drive me insane!
