Default How to Check ADSL line Upgrade

    Hi Guys,

Need a little help verifying whether my ADSL line has been upgraded or not.
Just called MWEB and they say my line is still 384k and that I cannot check sync speeds on my router as others on this forum have suggested.

My line seems to be performing a lot better latelyy, as shown by some of my seed tests:

Download Speed: 310 kbps (38.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 103 kbps (12.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Latency: 168 ms

Is there another way of checking this myself?

Why can't you check the sync speed on the router?

Your speed tests results are what you would expect for a 384kb/s line, i.e. you haven't been upgraded.

Pop onto the ADSL Availability and Speed Checker http://www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/ and type your ADSL Line number. Will tell you current speed and max speed you can upgrade to..

Those readings are in line with a 384 line.

Telkom has stated that line speed upgrades will start from 1 August.

    Here's the manual.

Have a look under device info/summary, but by the sounds of it your line is still at 384k. The download speeds you are getting is in line with a 384k line as well.
