What makes your job worth while?

I love my job.

I'm involved in massive M&A deals in SA, and a few internationally. I get to meet the movers and shakers in the business world, and help them structure / finance their ideas.

Nothing quite so nice as taking theory and making it work practically, and seeing the business grow Or the flipside, going into hard negotiations from 7am to 12pm for days at a time, and solving problems!

I work with awesome people, an awesome culture and real growth potential.

I love not knowing how any day will pan out (usually pans out for the worse, but hey that's life).

I have to be honest, I used to chase salary until I got this job. I started working 300+ hours a month easily, started having troubles at home and a employer that did not give a $#!t about problems I was experiencing due to them. I then decided to make a change in my life, I got a new job that pays just enough to live comfortably. My life is getting slowly but surely better at home.

keep in mind that all life is a constant juggle of balls. all of them is rubber like work and friends but one is glass. family. if you drop any of the others they can bounce back but family will break. There are things that are way more important than money.

Been in the IT admin field for 6 Years now, nothing too special unfortunately and has it’s repetitive tasks which slowly gets automated to make place for new repetitive tasks. But there are those “all hell breaks loose” days. It’s funny cause when this happens it usually means loss of business. I like the pressure and solving the issues but I’m not a fan of chaos itself.

Occasionally I make a difference in the life of a child. That'll have to do, because the pay sure isn't the reason.

Definitely not the work or the pay.

I get uncapped, unshaped, unrestricted high-speed internet at work.
I work with some pretty awesome people.
We have awesome social events every now and then.
We have a very casual environment where I get to wear what I like and work hours that suit me.
We get a food allowance to spend at our onsite canteen so I save a lot of money and stress on lunchtimes.

Even though my job can be boring as hell and I hate sitting all day staring at a PC (what job isn't like that anymore?) I would have a hard time deciding to leave because of all the other awesome things that I will really struggle to get elsewhere.

My job is dull beyond belief, but since I work with my husband in his business, I can't just up and leave.

There's just something about going from an idea, to a prototype to full production that is very rewarding... love my job.
