A window popped up the other day while I was watching a video, asking me the exact same question. I said hell No!
But I saw users that have accepted this, they're very brave I tell you.
I youtube all the time and never seen this option. Also I killed my Google+ account loooong ago so I really don't understand how they going to do this for the non google+ people.
Sometimes I talk to myself if I feel like having an intelligent conversation.
Obviously google needs to take on Facebook so they need real people to be interacting before they can drive numbers. One rapid but ill-advised way to do this is convert current users by changing their handles to their real names.
I guess one will have to have multiple accounts - your real public person and your other business and personal handles.

I dont see the big deal. Rather than sensationalizing it the article could say that Google is giving you the option to use a single account across all their services. change one option/profile image etc and you change them all. I prefer anonymity but I can see the appeal.
