Also we had this discussion already people will use religion push their anti west agendas or even anti gay agendas . Basically any agendas I think you get my point.
Hardly straws. There are true believers that bomb abortion clinics. Sure someone near the top might be manipulating or something but that could be said of anything (including JWs) and is ultimately irrelevant because the dude at the bottom is a true believer just as you are a true believer. So now because you think their particular belief is destructive you are allowed to mock it but if someone thinks your belief is destructive suddenly you have a problem with it?... this makes no sense and makes you look like a hypocrite.

Either you agree that folks are allowed to mock beliefs and practices they find destructive (this is in most cases subjective) or you argue that no beliefs can ever be mocked. Pick one. You can't argue that other people's beliefs can be mocked but yours can't because you believe they are good beliefs. That is hypocrisy.

Your'e correct it was wrong of me . None should be mocked .

Now why are you defending scientology so much?

I'm not, I will mock the schit out of it given the chance. Those people are a bunch of nutty motherfsckers. I just wanted some consistent logic out of you because as far as I could see you were being highly hypocritical considering what you were saying about Scientology earlier.

So I take it you are now going to stop mocking the dearly held beliefs of others now? (this includes for many people: the Theory of Evolution, Scientology, Satanism, Wicca, strong atheism, homosexuals saying they are born that way... frankly the list is just too long)

I think he might have meant all the ones continually posting here. Yeah most I know are civil and decent as well but they rarely respond to this stuff.

Here are the different types, with references, and yes it includes theists:

Because the first shows it as applying to religion. You can't assume the second must always apply and so it doesn't refer to religion. When it comes to knowledge we are all agnostic to an extent but the term commonly applies to not believing one way or the other. Atheists have made up their mind to believe that there probably aren't God(s) so you can't lump agnostics with the numbers to make them sound bigger.

Ron Rosenbaum illustrates the point nicely and also calls out the **** going on right here. The atheist is skeptical of the existence of God(s) but believes nonetheless that everything can be explained without postulating one. The agnostic is skeptical of the existence of God(s) but is equally skeptical of the atheists' claim that an explanation for everything will be found. http://www.slate.com/articles/life/t...manifesto.html

Yup defintion 2a sums me up nicely.

    Nice try Swa
So you identify as atheist. Yeah nice try but that doesn't subscribe everyone else to the same belief.

There are people that bomb abortion clinics because their particular flavour of faith demands it. Damn right I am going to mock that which they hold dear.

What a stupid notion, that people can't mock your beliefs.
Mocking and insecurity generally go hand in hand.

Yeah right I forgot. Everything you don't agree with is mental gymnastics. Funny the person Ron was talking about replied just after I posted it.

Porch you make very good arguements, I will stop mocking all together.

I will still correct and share my beliefs with those who are interested.
I and the voice inside my head(vis a vis my conscience) both agree that Jehovas partenalistic rulership is better than Satans liberal anarchy.

    From Wikipedia:

Jehovah's Witnesses consider secular society to be morally corrupt and under the influence of Satan, and limit their social interaction with non-Witnesses.
Maybe you should limit your social interaction with us corrupt heathens

You forgot to look up what we do the rest of the time , we continously try to alert people to those points you made by teaching them what the bible really teaches .

I would like to think that is what I do.

And here I thought christianity was all about having a one-on-one relationship with god and Jesus.

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
