Thread: Falling asleep at work (serious)

Default Falling asleep at work (serious)

Ever happened to anyone? The last few days I've been getting very little sleep, like 4-6 hours max.

It's really catching up with me. I was fine today until about 20 minutes ago. It's really hit me now, I feel like a zombie. I could literally fall asleep right now.

You know when you were younger and you tried to stay awake as long as possible while playing a video game or something, then you nod off for a few seconds and quickly snap back awake. I feel like that and it's happened a few times now. Still 5 hours left on my shift and I don't even feel awake enough to drive.

Just phoned for a coffee. Hoping it works, costed me bloody R16.

I have, multiple times. Solution, do some work. Find ANYTHING to do, from cleaning out your drawers to shredding paper.

Take your lunch hour and sleep in your car for 45 minutes.

I get this at least a couple of times a week But my "zombie feeling" only ever lasts like 20 minutes, getting up for some coffee or a glass of water snaps me out of it, but it's funny how it works, I'll be tired at work, but at 11pm tonight I'll be wide awake

Do some stretching, splash your face with cold water, try get some sunlight. Hardly ever works for me but might help.
What does work is to down some coffee, then take a 10-15 minute nap. The nap ends as the caffeine kicks in, so you get a double boost.

What InternetSwag leaves out is that he works at a vet supply store.
It's not exactly a high intensity job. He isn't studying (although he talks about this a lot), and doesn't have any cash to go out partying. So I don't really understandthe lack of sleep?

Wasn't he the one who had a thread of "is my GF going to leave me because she might get more money than me"? In his OP he mentioned how little sleep he gets because of how late they spend out.

Yep, quite a few times. The worst is if you wake up with like a "jolt" action and bump stuff from your desk, or you make a like snoring/snorting sound when you wakeup suddenly

Get yourself some Omega 3 capsules and eat better especially breakfast, like have a bowl of Oats, that other normal choco cereal is junk.
