Anyone have any experience with these monitors? Which one would be the better buy since they are the same price.
Thanks for the help.

Definitely the LG, the AOC is also a good monitor but the LG just looks much more beautiful.

AOC is very well regarded overseas. Both monitors will be roughly the same, both entry level low resolution TN panels. I see the AOC uses less electricity, which may be something to consider. Both have D-Sub/VGA (analogue) connectors, no DVI (digital). But the screen is obviously not going to be used for hectic stuff, so VGA is probvably fine.
It is only going to serve an office PC setup, so no gaming and movies and whatnot.
So in other words (aesthetics aside) they are the same? Quality vs performance?

LG IMHO
I would go with the LG. Support in South Africa is good and it has a good name. The specs are pretty much the same and the electrical consumption should not be too much of an issue. Happy shopping
I would go for LG, since it's the same price. Would rather buy a brand that I already have confidence in.
The LG is a CCFL backlit LCD, and the AOC is an LED backlit LCD. Once they're set correctly the difference shouldn't be too much. LED backlighting tends to be brighter and offer more contrasty colours, often with less accurate sub details due to the washing out effect of brightness (lower picture quality to purists). Some people prefer this though.
For office work, it's not worth worrying about. If it was your own home PC for gaming or photo work or what not, I would be recommending IPS LCD monitors, not TN.
LG and AOC are both excellent monitors have both one @ my moms home in Gauteng and one down here in WC
just saw both the LG and AOC on special on the http://www.buynow.co.za/ site
Thanks for all the replies.
I'm new to LED monitors and I have my first SyncMaster LED and it is miles ahead of my old Acer V203W. Had to get used to the LED display though.
That is why I asked since I do not have a lot of experience with LCD vs LED monitors. Thanks for all the replies!

There is no such thing as LED monitors, they are one and the same as LCD. Only the backlight differs. Samsung probably appears better because it's newer tech, and as I said, the colours appear more punchy with a loss of sub details, due to the increased brightness of LED back lighting.
Just a quick update, I went with the AOC since the LG was sold out, not bad for the price, not the best picture quality I have ever seen but bright and easy on the eyes. Will work great for office use.
Thanks for all the input!
