    What BS! Okay so then we already have 100% broadband penetration as everyone has a cellphone that has gprs speed or higher. Yay bonuses for everyone. And if you find the odd twat who doesn't even have that, we can always reduce it to gsm speed. It's not like anyone knows the difference or cares for that matter.

    Government is highly unlikely to hit targets for any type of broadband objectives at any speed, so the definition doesn't matter in that respect.

    However it is irritating to still have companies referring to adsl with nominal max 64kbps upload speed as 'fast broadband'.

    Unbundle the local loop, open up the market for competition against Telkom and THEN we can discuss the definition of broadband in this country

    I too want a definition added to the amendment bill:

    "Ministerial Remuneration: the meaning of this shall be determined by tax payers and amended on a monthly basis (usually decreased in monetary value)."
