Default Where the best place to purchase an SSD ?

I'm getting my increase this month and have been paying off my credit card quite nicely.
So I think its about time to upgrade the drive in my gaming PC, its definitely the thing that is slowing me down.

Where is the best place to get one, I'm looking to spend less than 2k and I want a 120gig or higher.

    Current specs:
Quad core q6600 on an intel q965 board
    Radeon 6870
    4 gig Ram
350 gig sata II (will this be an issue if the drive is sata III?)
    500w ps

A quick check shows computer mania has a 128GB SSD for R1799. I think the brand is apacer..

You can get 120gb for around R1200

Prophecy.co.za shows the OCZ Vertex 4 128GB at a tad over R1500. Its pretty snappy supposedly, especially with the latest firmware, though not without its quirks

Thanks.... I have used prophecy before. They are good.

I was looking for the thread on "things you need to do with an SSD" couldn't find it though. Is there anything special I need to remember when installing ?

Probably going to go for a win 7 64 bit install.

Lately Rebeltech, Wootware and Takealot seem to offer some of the best prices on PC components.

R1300 for the OCZ Vertex 4 is definitely a winner, unless you can get it for cheaper elsewhere

How on earth did you make that conclusion? They're selling the OCZ Agility 3 for R1480 where it costs R1050 at the other places...

Just went through this same phase this past month and finally went with the OCZ vertex 4 256GB.....picked it up from esquire (after fighting about the price). Best speed increase I have ever got for my money. I looked at all the places, wootware offered the best until I came right with esquire. Wootware would be your best bet.

If you going to spend money do it the right way, just go with OCZ vertex 4 and upgrade the firmware.....so worth it, you won't regret it.
