Default Earphone's "pin" broke off in iPad

Some dick head talking on his cellphone swerved in front of me, and I hit brakes iPad flew off the seat, and the earphone pin thingy broke off in the socket...

Any tips on getting it out? It broke flush with the hole... no solid advice on the interwebs

Ouch, that sucks. Maybe put a dlob of superglue on a stick (same sort of size as the headphone connector, and then carefully touch it to the bit still left in the hole and leave it to dry then pull it out ... dangerous if you get it wrong but would be something I'd maybe try.

That sounds like a good idea - if done with care !

Yeh - I've seen that recommended... just don't want to end up the stick stuck to my ipad

You will have to be very careful with the superglue... but I think its be best idea.

Superglue works, unwind a safety clip, I've found that has the best small hard surface area for the job. If Superglue doesn't work try that Loctite stuff (expoxy) it's a lot stronger but takes a while to set properly.

You could take a 1mm steel drill bit and carfully drill a hole through the centre of the broken earphone piece.Use a drill with variable speed.

Epoxy + something solid to bolt it to,leave it in the exact position till it sets and remove

How would you stop the plug from spinning?

I wonder if a vacuum cleaner could be used to suck it out? Assuming it isn't airtight on the other side.

    Aren't these plugs hollow inside?
You could try jam something inside it then you should be able to use that to pull it out.
