Earphone's "pin" broke off in iPad

Superglue works, unwind a safety clip, I've found that has the best small hard surface area for the job. If Superglue doesn't work try that Loctite stuff (expoxy) it's a lot stronger but takes a while to set properly.

I'll see if I can take a pic... lighting and position makes it difficult.

Centrafugal force will prevent plug rotation if its being "held" by casing.

get a toothpick or other stick, break it so it has a flat surface! Apply glue to stick and slowly put stick into hole, hold carefully while drying and pull!

Why is driving with headphones on dangerous?

Because most headphones plug your ears and you can't hear important things happening around you.
Deaf people find it a huge problem

Loud music focused in your ears actually also a problem, so generally its a not a great idea.

Interesting, never really thought about it that way. What about motorbike helmets? I've only worn one for go karting and I couldn't hear ****.

Well - finally got round to it again last night.. when looking at the headphone jack, I saw it was still in one piece Then realised it wasn't the headphone jack, but one of those plastic stylus pens that store in the headphone socket

I tried everything, super-glue, tweezers, nail file, needles - I eventually got frustrated - and hammered a pin in breaking pieces off until enough was broken that it crumbled and well out

No damage to ipad fortunately, and lesson learnt.
