Thread: OOB Shark

    Default OOB Shark

    Hi Guys

We need to raise awareness and educate as many people about OOB shark and international Roaming, not everyone visits this site so many are screwed. Dozens of consumers fall victim to this beast so the Bus Stops here....The Road is closed repairs Vodacom...hahahaha.....Ok back to Business.

I started by educating my Parents, Grands Parents and everyone around me on how to convert airtime into Data. What I found is most people don't like complicated steps (like *111#, Standard, Avance, bla bla) though they might be easy for you but its to lengthy and complicated!

This is where we need to work together..

Seeing that most people love cellphone games (especially my Grand Ma) why don't we create a game called "The OOB Shark". Where you get to hunt for people who are browsing without converting to Data, you swim on the network tearing unsuspecting victims pockets, taking all they have until the balance is 0.00. Or it can even be like command and concur where you can be the sharks or the consumers, multi player like and if you own the consumers you have to make sure your whole colony has data bundles and they get new Sim cards when they roam. This should include real life scenarios like the steps taken to do do just that and more.

I am not a developer but I am sure if we put our brains together we can do something that will starve the Shark, its too fat now.

That wont work, insurance will fix everything, that wont even bring down the Network. Only solution is to Starve the shark.

Or we can code an app that goes through these steps for you, it should detect airtime recharge and promtp you if you want to convert some of the airtime to Data.

Or you could help us educate subscribers to use all the steps VODACOM put in place to ensure you only pay for the data you use and NEVER go OOB?

I, for one, would love to see not a SINGLE sub go OOB ever and rather buy the next bundle when they reach the end of their bundle.

It is possible. My entry to the competition suggests flat data rate, no bundles, no risk of going OOB. Here:

Or you could spy on 8ta and learn how to cut connections during usage and ask us what we choose to do.

    +1.

Checking the vodacom dashboard hourly to make sure you still have bundle is so last century. 8ta can stop data once bindles are depleted. Why can't vodacom?!
