Thread: What's your NZB speed with MWEB?

Default What's your NZB speed with MWEB?

    Hi,

For the life of me I can't understand why I can only get 200KB download speed on my 4MB line. I am with MWeb and "MWeb Guy" says that MWeb doesn't do any throttling. I make use of AstraWeb for my downloads.

Can someone else tell me whether they get more than -+200KB download speed for their 4MB ADSL line?

    Let me know

    Thanks
    Wolvy

I get 360kB/s, that's my max line speed, using SABnzbd, no SSL or anything.

Hey MWeb guy. Thank you for replying so quick I have PM'd you.

    I get 400kb/s or upwards.

The only time when not getting it on nzbs is when it isn't cached yet at the nntp server.

@Death - Do you use a certain provider? I use astraweb and they are adamant that they do not implement rate limits.

@Wolvy - I use giganews.com as primary and always full speed, and as backup I use nzbSA.

And nope, MWEB doesn't implement rate limits whatsoever.

I have a 1 meg uncapped and would guess if I only use the news server I will be lucky to get 35% of the line capacity. When I also use Astraweb, then things go full speed most of the time. I just leave Astraweb as an active option now.

I have the 4mbps uncapped package and average between 450 and 640 (at night) speeds.

Ok, I have found the problem. Eish! .... Thanks for all the input peeps.

About 2months back, I installed a utility called NetLimiter to see what was using my network bandwidth. I totally forgot about this and by chance found the icon on my desktop last night and checked if SABNZBD was limited and lo and behold, it was limited to exactly 200KB. I must have set it to test the network at that time. :P

Stupid me! Thanks MWEB Guy....You are a legend and sorry for the run around....
