Where is that bus to Latvia again

Well I'm happy with my 4mbs bundle from afrihost both with price and perfomance.
I and the voice inside my head(vis a vis my conscience) both agree that Jehovas partenalistic rulership is better than Satans liberal anarchy.

I couldn't agree more. I have 6Mb/sec from Afrihost - great price and great service. Wouldn't dream of moving.

While back in the real world, excellent progress is being made:

What is happening with dark fibre africa. Why aren't ISP's jumping ship and using them instead of Telkom?

    Just wondering

World average 2.3Mbps. Soon (august) we are upgrading 0.3Mbps an 1Mbps to 1Mbps and 2Mbps.

I don't think we are are too far behind the world average (for now)

The reduction could just be due to more "lower end" users - for example, if the mobile operators added quite a few low end Blackberry Edge users to the base, this could have the net effect of diluting/reducing the "average" broadband speed.

Doing an average speed test is not very accurate in a market that still showing strong growth across all sectors, from an internet access perspective, without some proper segmentation.

From my experience 3G BIS was not much better than EDGE on Vodacom, so also add these users into the mix.

I think this just shows that cheap 1Mbps uncapped packages are more appealing. You can still download everything you need every month and not pay such a premium as for 4Mbps. Still I would love to go upgrade to a 4Mbps line, just too expensive atm

The decline indicates SA internet is still too expensive & people are dropping to cheaper/slower packages as they become more viable. We are still being ripped off.
