Joomla 2.5 let's you select two default templates. One for the front end and one for the backend.

From the template manager, the templates with a start next to them are the current default templates, click the start of a different template to set that one as the default
There must be something seriously wrong that I'm doing, because when I set a style as default for the front-end/site, its not the same as when I preview a template? Also when I preview a template I keep on getting these "outline" errors all over the page :

EDIT: Ignore the FlashGet Icon in the middle of the photo

I don't think those are errors, those are indicating all the different module positions on the template.

Strang as I've already installed all the modules for the template.

But it's showing you where the different possible positions are. ie you can move your modules to those different positions in place of the currently selected ones.

Right now, a new problen has arised, I downloaded the YOOtheme Widgetkit and ZOO free versions to try out with the template, but after installing and activating both, they don't seem to work properly :

As when I try to select a Widget to put into a position, it just doesn't show up, it only gives the option to select a widget without actually giving any widgets to choose from, any possible problems do you think could cause this/any idea on how to resolve this matter?

You need to create the required widget first by going to Components -> Widgetkit, then you'll be able to select the created widget from the drop-down menu in your screenshot.

Thanks, both are working fine now.

Just out of curiosity would I be able to backup my site/database and then do a fresh install of Joomla and load the backup files?

You can try and use Akeeba Backup. I've only ever really done full site backup/restores with it, so I'm not sure if you can do a fresh install and restore.

Thanks, will give it a try. Right now before I register a domain, there's one more thing to do, I need to get a static IP address, how could I get a static IP on a Netgear router?

*Tried using "Static Routes" but didn't work

Sounds like you want to host the Joomla site permantely on your home/office connection?

What kind of internet do you have? ADSL or dedicated line?

ADSL has dynamic IPs, think you can buy statis but the easiest is to buy a domain and account at dyndns.com which will track your changing IP address and update the domain address so its always reachable via the name even though the IP is changing.

Dedicated line probably gives you a static IP and then you enter it as a static IP address on your router, as opposed to PPPoE.

Thanks nic777, just one more question about the DNS packages do you think the advantages of "Enterprise Lite" over "Standard" justify the higher price?
