    Default Weekdays weekend dsl

got this problem and wana make sure what is the cause.. in the weekdays the dsl speed suffers like hell but on sat and sunday speed improves. is this because of line thats get little ease or the it the shapping. got telkom capped account on 384 line. living in industrial area.

Connection Speed 384 kbps 128 kbps
Line Attenuation 36.5 db 22.5 db
Noise Margin 35.0 db 13 db
any idea what is causing the slowness..

If you do a tracert to a site like 8.8.8.8 during the week and the ms spikes in the first hop from your router, you suffer from congestion, which tends to clear up if the area's exchange is less in use,as seems to be during weekends for you

There is nothing wrong with your line, so it must be a fault with your account at Telkom.

If you live in an industrial area it's probably congestion at the exchange.

Rustenburg's industrial area is quite small. However, I have a friend who runs a transport business there from an industrial park. They have had their phone lines stolen so often, that MTN set up a transmitter for the business park and offered everyone a discounted 3G connection provided they all joined. Within 6 weeks, everyone joined

i also believe its exchange. industrial area is not small as lots of small factories need the dsl and our rasidential area also connected together with them hell. how telkom going to solve this mess. struggling with them past year or so hoping they going to do some sort of fix but i dont think so. because of this i dont wanted to go uncap option as well as line speed. dont know what will new line upgrade will make any diff??????
