Samsung Galaxy S 2 ICS Update.

So my friend wants me to update his S2 to ICS without rooting, but the kies update does not want to work. I tried updating without Kies but with no luck. I tried to the search the S2 Thread on here but with 400+ pages it gets a bit confusing. Does anybody know how to update his S2 successfully with or without Kies. He's S2 is on MTN (XFM)

Download Odin and look for the XFM firmware on XDA Developers, or samfirmware.com.

Where is the S2 from? Is it running stock or has your friend installed some custom ROM?

My fiance got one from FNB beginning of the year and she got the ICS update via KIES a few months ago. All stock with no root nothing.

It was stock but Kies didn't work, but all figured out now
